Taste the changing of the seasons in the Adelaide Hills, as you pick your own fruit. Whether it be the iconic Beerenberg Farm strawberry patch, cherry, apple or fig orchards, there are plenty of pickings for everyone. It’s important to keep in mind the following months for fruit picking when planning your adventure; Beerenberg’s strawberries, November-March; Cherries; November to January; Figs at Glen Ewin Estate in February and March; Apples during the ‘Pick a Pink Lady Weekend’ in Lenswood in May.
Town Markets
When the sun is shining, there’s no better way to enjoy the day than by exploring some of SA’s prime markets. Whether you’re visiting the small townships over the weekend, and come across the markets sprawled throughout carparks, or are heading to Mt Barker for the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market, there’s something for everyone. Possibly the most iconic market in the region are the Stirling Markets. With local artisans and iconic producers setting up shop, you’ll be grateful you didn’t drive by. There’s a range of truly delicious and scrumptious food on offer, and that’s just along the main strip. Hidden down laneways you’ll find gorgeous boutiques and restaurants to enjoy the ambiance of the market.
Springtime in Hahndorf
As if you needed any other reason to head to the picturesque German village of Hahndorf. Walk amongst the treelined street, and fall in love with the European-nature of the small township. The best part is, there’s an abundance of delicious food and dessert destinations scattered along the Main Street, along with ample car parking. Our Team love exploring this part of the Adelaide Hills, so there’s no surprise you’ll always see a mention of this beautiful locale in most blogs.
