Yes, we have a ramp and disabled toilets. For those in large wheelchairs we can arrange entrance through a side door.
The café offers a selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolates & milkshakes.
Can I organise a Melba’s gift voucher?
Yes, please contact our Woodside factory or visit us in store to organise your gift voucher.
Yes, a majority of our stock is available online. However, our homewares, gift packs and sugarless range are not available online. Unfortunately we do not offer Paypal or Afterpay as we have looked into it and it is not economical for us to do so at this point in time.
Can I purchase via a wholesale account?
All wholesale customers need approval from management before purchasing. If you are interested in wholesaling Melba’s products, please send your request via email or contact our Woodside factory.
Can I purchase via the telephone?
We prefer orders to be completed through our online store, to ensure credit card details are kept securely.
Unfortunately we do not ship internationally.
Does your factory offer credit card facilities?
Yes, we use Square to process all card transactions and Square works with any Australian-issued and most international chip cards or magstripe cards with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express logo, as well as bank-issued EFTPOS chip cards. The minimum transaction amount for card payments is $1.00
How can I obtain a donation or support for my fundraiser?
Melba’s is committed to assisting our community and other charities, however our resources are limited. Due to the amount of requests we receive each year for donations, we are unable to assist everyone. We already allocate a sizeable budget to charitable, sporting and community organisations. More information is available on our Donation Policy.
How do I arrange corporate gifts for my workplace?
Melba’s Chocolates offers a large range of corporate seasonal giftware for Christmas. For more information, or to see what’s available, please contact us.
Do you offer discounts for large orders?
Please contact us directly regarding large orders and any discounts that may apply.
Do you offer any chocolates or confectionery for those with diabetes?
Melba’s offer a wide range of No Added Sugar chocolates and a variety of other treats from the Sugarless range. Please note, the Sugarless products are only available at our Woodside factory.
Do your products contain palm oil?
The only products we stock that contain palm oil (RSPO certified) are our No Added Sugar Milk Chocolate range and compound chocolate. Look for “vegetable oil” in the ingredient listing.
Do you use glucose in your products?
We use wheat glucose in some products we manufacture. We recommend looking at the ingredient listing for each product, to ensure it is appropriate.
Is your chocolate gluten free?
Our chocolate does not contain any gluten ingredients. However, due to the fact that we manufacture, process and pack all products (including non-gluten free products) with the same plant and equipment, we do not label any products as gluten free. If you are Celiac, we suggest reading the allergen statement of each product, to ensure it is appropriate.
Do all your products contain nuts?
The entire Melba’s product range has a peanut and tree-nut warning, due to the fact we manufacture, process and pack our products using the same equipment.
Is your chocolate dairy or lactose free?
None of our manufactured chocolate products are dairy free. One line in the ‘Sugarless’ range is lactose free and the dark compound chocolate buds do not contain dairy but are at risk of cross contamination.
Does you chocolate contain egg?
None of the products we manufacture contain egg, however some product lines we stock are from other manufacturers and may contain egg such as the nougat and almond milk rock. Check the allergen statement on individual labels to make sure these are suitable.
Are any of your products vegan friendly/without animal products?
We do not label our chocolates and confectionery as vegan. It is at the customer’s discretion to determine whether the goods are appropriate. Our hard-boiled confectionery including inch licorice and traffic lights are vegan-friendly. The only chocolate we stock which does not contain animal products is the dark compound chocolate buds but these are not vegan certified. Please read the ingredient listing on each product to ensure it is appropriate for your requirements.
What is your gelatine made from?
The gelatine we use is derived from bovine.
Do you stock any Halal Certified Products?
We do not make any Halal Certified Products.
How should I store my chocolate?
Chocolate should be stored in a cool, dry place out of direct light.
The ideal temperature for storing chocolate is between 15-20ºC with low humidity.
Avoid refrigerating chocolate, as the low temperature in the fridge can also lead to “sugar bloom”, however if you do need to keep chocolate in a refrigerator, ensure it is well wrapped, and store in an airtight container.
What is the Compound Bud Mix?
Our Compound Bud Mix is a combination of Milk Compound Chocolate, Dark Compound Chocolate, and White Compound Chocolate. The Compound Chocolate generally has a lesser cocoa percentage and contains vegetable fat in replacement of cocoa butter. It lacks the full and complex flavours and textures found in our regular Milk, Dark and White Couverture Chocolate.
Can I buy Melba’s seconds online?
A majority of our range is available online, items such as seconds and Giftware are only available to purchase from the factory – and are subject to availability. Our seconds are a sold on a first-in, first-served basis, and we ask that you do not ring to put quantities aside.
How can I get to your factory using public transport?
If you’re heading our way from the city, Adelaide Metro’s route 830F, City to Lobethal, heads along the Onkaparinga Valley Road. The closest bus stop to Melba’s is #69, which will drop you on the corner of Onkaparinga Valley Road and Charles Street. Follow Charles Street and turn left on Henry Street. There you will find our Melba’s Chocolate factory.
If you’re heading to Melba’s from Mt Barker, head to the Verdun Junction (stop #51 or #52) and jump on route 834 or 835. These both head along the Onkaparinga Valley Road, where you’ll need to get off at stop #69 and walk up Charles Street.
